Major Highlights ================ Pristina Region : Unknown suspects make bomb threat to local shop owner. No injuries. Gnjilane Region : Three armed suspects rob K-Serb male of cash and valuables. Prizren Region : Two K-Serb homes burned. No injuries. Arson suspected. Pec Region : Three K-Albanians robbed of cash and valuables. No injuries. Mitrovica Region: No significant criminal incidents were reported. PRISTINA Region =============== :: BOMB THREAT :: Pristina - 05/02 - 0700hrs. A K-Albanian male shop owner reported that two unknown male suspects placed a television set in front of his business and stated it contained a bomb. KFOR EOD responded to the scene where the device was found to be a hoax. ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF WEAPONS Muzicane Village, Lipljan - 05/02 - 2200hrs. Two K-Albanian males were arrested after they were found in possession of a Thompson machine gun, 5 magazines, ammunition and two bayonets. The weapons were seized. SUDDEN DEATH Kuzmin Village, Pristina - 05/02 - 0700hrs. A 50-year-old male Estonian citizen was found dead in his bedroom from apparent asphyxiation due to an extremely high alcohol intake. GNJILANE Region =============== :: ARMED ROBBERY :: Gnjilane - 04/02 - 0400hrs. Three armed unknown male suspects entered the home of a K-Serb male and demanded money. One suspect hit the victim with his fist on the head while the other two offenders began searching the house. They found a small amount of cash. The also took two cows and a calf. Two of the offenders spoke Serbian and the other one spoke Albanian. The victim sustained minor injuries. ROBBERY * Kacanik Town - 04/02 - 2230hrs. A Macedonian male was forced by three unknown males to stop his vehicle as he was driving to Globocica. The offenders robbed him of a small amount of cash and a mobile phone and left the scene in the victim's vehicle. No physical injuries were reported. * Vitina Town - 05/02 - 2115hrs. Four masked men, armed with an assault rifle, entered a house of a K-Albanian female and robbed her of a small amount of gold and cash. No physical injuries were reported. POSSESSION OF ILLEGAL WEAPONS Vitina Town - 04/02 - 2230hrs. UNMIK Police and KFOR responded to a local wedding where gunfire was heard. A search of a K-Albanian male's house resulted in the seizure of an assault rifle and two magazines. A second K-Albanian male was found in possession of a shotgun and ammunition. The weapons were confiscated and both suspects were arrested by UNMIK Police. PRIZREN Region ============== :: SUSPECTED ARSON :: * Orahovac Town - 04/02 - 1435 hrs. An unoccupied K-Serbian residence was found burning. No electricity was connected to the house. KFOR fire services extinguished the blaze. Arson is suspected; investigation continuing. * Orahovac Town - 05/02 - 1630 hrs. Unknown persons set an unoccupied K-Serb house on fire. A female (ethnicity not reported) at the scene protested against both the fire brigade and the UNMIK Police carrying out their duties. Arson is suspected; investigation continuing. ASSAULT Prizren - 05/02 - 0200 hrs. A K-Albanian male had assaulted his German female girlfriend because she wanted to leave the country and refused to marry him. The suspect was arrested. No physical injuries were reported. THREATS Orahovac Town - 05/02 - 1410 hrs. The K-Albanian President of the minor offences court reported that his wife had received a telephone call from a male speaking Albanian in which the suspect had threatened to have him killed. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. An assessment of the security situation of the victim is ongoing. SURRENDER OF ILLEGAL WEAPONS * Kramovick Village, Orahovac - 03/02 -1300 hrs. A K-Albanian male voluntarily surrendered an assault rifle to UNMIK Police. Suspect was not charged. * Vranjak Village, Orahovac - 04/02 - 2230 hrs. A K-Albanian male voluntarily surrendered an assault rifle to UNMIK Police. Suspect was not charged. PEC Region ========== :: ARMED ROBBERY :: Dakovica Town - 05/02 - 1330 hrs. Two unknown armed suspects stopped a K-Albanian car driver at gunpoint. They robbed him along with his sister and mother of currency and jewels. They offenders took also the victim's vehicle and fled the scene with it. No physical injuries were reported. ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION Dakovica Town - 05/02 - 0130 hrs. A K-Albanian male arrested after he was found in possession of ammunition. ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS Dakovica Town - 05/02 - 0130 hrs. A K-Albanian male arrested after he was found in possession of substance believed to be marijuana. ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON Dakovica Town - 04/02 - 1840 hrs. A K-Albanian male was arrested after he was found in possession of a pistol and ammunition. FOUND UXO Dakovica Town - 05/02 1015 hrs. During a search of a restaurant conducted by UNMIK Police two mines and ammunition were located. The ammunition was seized and KFOR EOD disposed of the mines. No arrests were reported. SMUGGLING Veric Village, Istok - 05/02 - 1050 hrs. A K-Bosnian male truck driver was arrested after he was found to have avoided custom payment while hauling twenty-eight tons of cement. MITROVICA Region ================ No significant criminal incidents were reported. BORDER Police ============= PRISTINA AIRPORT ---------------- FALSE DOCUMENTS / PASSPORTS * 04/02. Two K-Albanians attempted to fly to Switzerland on false passports. The documents were seized and the subjects were released into Kosovo. * 04/02. Six K-Albanians attempted to fly to Switzerland using false passports. The documents were seized and the subjects were released into Kosovo. DENERAL JANKOVIC ---------------- STOLEN PASSPORT 04/02. Six K-Albanians attempted to cross the border using stolen passports. The subjects were processed and released into Kosovo. FALSE PASSPORT 04/02. One K-Albanian attempted to cross the border using a false German passport. The document was seized and the subject was released into Kosovo. GLOBOCICA --------- STOLEN PASSPORT 04/02.
