Gnjilane Region : K-Albanian male the victim of self-inflicted accidental shooting. Prizren Region : Unidentified suspects open fire on KFOR troops. No injuries. Pec Region : K-Albanian male taxi driver victim of robbery by unknown males. Mitrovica Region: K-Serbians start fires and throw rocks at passing cars. PRISTINA Region =============== ::DEMONSTRATION:: Kosovo Polje Town - 18/02 - 1445 hrs. Approximately 100 K-Serbians gathered for a demonstration when approximately 80 K-Albanians also gathered to protest the Serbian demonstration. UNMIK Police began negotiations and the demonstration ended peacefully. No major incidents were reported. BURGLARY Glogovac Town - 18/01. Unknown suspects forcibly entered the offices of "Medicines Du Monde" by breaking the window glass. It is unknown if any items were taken at this time. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. GNJILANE Region =============== ::ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING:: Urosevac Town - 18/02 - 0845 hrs. A K-Albanian male had accidentally shot himself in the knee. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. UXO FOUND Gnjilane - 18/02 - 1730 hrs. Children playing in a shed behind an abandoned K-Serbian residence found a hand grenade. KFOR EOD disposed of the device. No physical injuries were reported. PRIZREN Region ============== ::ARMED ASSAULT:: Prizren - 18/02 - 1330 hrs. Unidentified person(s) opened fire on German KFOR troops who were conducting foot patrols. Nine shots were directed at the soldiers who were not hit or injured. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. ARSON Orahovac Town - 18/02 - 1850 hrs. Unknown person(s) set a K-Serbian residence ablaze using a petrol bomb. The fire caused extensive damage. No physical injuries were reported. DEAD BODY FOUND Orahovac Town - 18/02 - 1210 hrs. The dead body of a Moldavian female was found. No further information given. UXO FOUND Orahovac Town - 18/02 - 1045 hrs. A K-Albanian male found six hand grenades in his farm field. KFOR EOD disposed of the devices. No physical injuries were reported. PEC Region ========== ::ROBBERY:: Prekale Village, Istok - 17/02 - 1830 hrs. A K-Albanian male taxi driver transported two unknown young K-Albanian males to the village. Upon arrival the suspects attacked him and stole his vehicle. No physical injuries were reported. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON * Brekovac Village, Dakovica - 17/02 - 1745 hrs. A K-Albanian male voluntarily surrendered a pistol and ammunition to authorities. * Piskota Village, Dakovica - 17/02 - 2310 hrs. During a bar check UNMIK Police officers found a pistol and ammunition lying on the floor. Nobody claimed ownership of the items, which were seized. SUICIDE Brekovac Village, Dakovica - 08/02 - 1200 hrs. The body of a K-Albanian male reported missing on 08/02 was located in his basement, the apparent victim of self-electrocution. MITROVICA Region ================ ::CIVIL UNREST:: Zubin Potok Town - 18/02 - 1720 hrs. A group of approximately 30-40 K-Serbians gathered on a roadway, starting fires and throwing rocks at passing vehicles. KFOR responded to the area and the group was dispersed without incident. No injuries or damages were reported. DEAD BODY FOUND Zhabar Village, Mitrovica South - 18/02 - 0930 hrs. The dead body of a newborn female infant was found in front of a garage. The Investigator Judge and the Prosecutor visited the scene; afterwards the body was transported to Pristina Medical Institute. Investigation continues. BORDER Police ============= PRISTINA AIRPORT ---------------- FALSE DOCUMENTS 17/02. Two K-Albanians were found to be in possession of false documents, which were seized. DENERAL JANKOVIC ---------------- FALSE DOCUMENTS 17/02. One K-Albanian attempted to cross the border with a false document, which was seized. GLOBOCICA --------- FALSE VEHICLE REGISTRATION 17/02. A male (nationality not reported) attempted to enter Kosovo with a false Albanian vehicle registration card, which was seized. INCIDENT OVERVIEW 18.
