Mitrovica Region <> UN vehicle sustains minor damage by unknown persons. >>>>>> REGION PRISTINA >>> CRIMINAL INCIDENTS THEFT Pristina - 06/01 - 1845 hrs. A female German National reported the theft of her handbag from a local restaurant. The handbag contained her diplomatic passport, driver's license, credit card and cash. Investigation continuing. COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY Glogovac Town, Pristina - 06/01 - 1330 hrs. A K-Albanian male was arrested after he attempted to pay for a purchase using a counterfeit 1000 DM bank note. Investigation continuing. THREATS/ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON Pristina - 05/01 - 1800 hrs. A K-Albanian male was arrested after threatening another K-Albanian male with a gun. A restaurant where the incident occurred was later searched and a pistol with 8 rounds of ammunition was recovered. No injuries were reported. >>> OTHER INCIDENTS/EVENTS HUMAN REMAINS FOUND Maticane Village, Pristina - 05/01- 0015 hrs. A group of children playing located a human skull and notified UNMIK police. The scene was secured for further investigation. No other information at this time. >>>>>> REGION GNJILANE >>> CRIMINAL INCIDENTS DOMESTIC ABUSE Gnjilane Town - 05/01 - 0041 hrs. A K-Albanian female reported that her husband had beaten her and threatened her with a knife. She further reported that he had earlier brought a kidnap victim to their residence. No further information reported. The suspect was arrested. COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY Gllobocica Village, Kacanik - 03/01 - 2300 hrs. Three K-Albanian males were arrested when they were found to be in possession of a quantity of counterfeit currency. >>> OTHER INCIDENTS/EVENTS MISSING PERSON Gnjilane Town - 28/12 - Unknown Time. A K-Albanian male reported that his cousin has been missing since 28/12/00 when he left Macedonia for Gnjilane. Investigation continuing. FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS * Gnjilane Town - 05/01 - 1415 hrs. A K-Albanian male, while passing other vehicles lost control and was ejected when his vehicle rolled. After being ejected the driver was struck by a passing KFOR vehicle, which then rolled when trying to avoid striking the subject. The K-Albanian driver was killed and five others were injured, including one KFOR soldier. Investigation continuing. * Urosevac Town - 05/01 - 1100 hrs. A three-vehicle accident, involving two K-Albanian males and one male from Montenegro resulted in the death of one individual and the injury of another. Improper passing is believed to be the cause of the accident. No other information reported. >>>>>> REGION PRIZREN >>> CRIMINAL INCIDENTS ASSAULT Prizren - 06/01 - 1300 hrs. A K-Albanian male taxi driver was arrested when he attacked a fellow taxi driver with a knife dring a dispute over customers. No injuries were reported. ARMED ASSAULT Prizren - 06/01 - 1750 hrs. A K-Albanian male reported that five unknown persons armed with a pistol and an AK-47 rifle were at his mothers residence and had beaten two of the five females that were inside the house. KFOR and UNMIK Police responded to the location but found the suspects had fled the area. Investigation continuing. ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION Orahovac Town - 05/01 - 1600 hrs. A K-Albanian male reported that four unidentified males tried to kidnap him. No injuries were reported. Investigation continuing. ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON Prizren - 05/01 - 2330 hrs. A K-Albanian male was arrested after a search of his residence discovered a pistol and 18 rounds of ammunition. >>> OTHER INCIDENTS/EVENTS ATTEMPTED SUICIDE Prizren - 06/01 - 1600 hrs. A K-Albanian male under custody for a case of theft cut himself in his left hand with a piece of metal because he could not attend a party for his brother. He was taken to hospital for treatment and his condition was reported as fair. >>>>>> REGION PEC >>> CRIMINAL INCIDENTS GRENADE ATTACK Dakovica Town - 07/01 - 0200 hrs. Three shops and two vehicles were damaged when a grenade exploded on the street. No injuries were reported. Investigation continuing. ARMED ROBBERY Glamnik Village, Podujevo - 06/01 - 2100 hrs. A K-Albanian male taxi driver reported that he picked up two males at the bus station, who then forced him at knifepoint to drive to a secluded location where he was robbed. The suspects then took the victim's, vehicle leaving him afoot. Both suspects spoke with an Albanian accent, No injuries were reported. Investigation continuing. ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON * Morina Village, Dakovica - 05/01 - 1250 hrs. A KPS officer arrested a K-Albanian male for carrying one Voltran pistol with magazine in his vehicle. The weapon was seized. * Leshan Village, Pec - 05/01 1300 hrs. During a search operation performed by UNMIK Police, a K-Albanian male was found to be in possession of one .38 Caliber revolver and ammunition. The suspect was arrested and the weapon seized. * Dakovica Town - 04/01 - 1415 hrs. A MATR pistol and magazines were discovered during a search of a K-Albanian male's vehicle. The suspect was arrested and the weapon seized. * Leshan Village, Pec - 05/01 - 1430 hrs. During a search performed by KPS, a K-Albanian male was found to be in possession of one Llama pistol and ammunition. The suspect was arrested and the weapon seized. * Budisavci Village, Klina - 05/01 - 1830 hrs. During a residence search performed by KFOR, a K-Albanian male was found to be in possession of one Zastava pistol and ammunition. The suspect was arrested and the weapon seized. * Pec Town - 05/01 - 1915 hrs. During a search performed by UNMIK Police, a K-Albanian male was found to be in possession of one Zastava pistol and ammunition. The suspect was arrested and the weapon seized. * Dakovica Town - 05/01 - 2000 hrs. During a residence search performed by KFOR, a K-Albanian male was found to be in possession of one AK-47 rifle and one Zastava pistol. The suspect was arrested and the weapons seized. ASSAULT Graboc Village, Pec - 05/01 - Unknown Time. A K-Albanian male was arrested for assaulting his father. >>> OTHER INCIDENTS/EVENTS MISSING PERSON Mojstir Village, Istok - 03/01 - 1600 hrs. KFOR reported that they had seized one AK-47 assault rifle from a K-Serbian male. Suspect was handed over to UNMIK Police. Investigation continuing. * Srbica Town - 06/01 - 0500 hrs. Two K-Albanian males were arrested after a joint KFOR and UNMIK Police search of their residence revealed one AK-47 assault rifle and two fragmentation grenades. CRIMINAL DAMAGE Mitrovica South - 06/01 - 1100 hrs. Unknown persons damaged a UN motor vehicle while it was parked. Investigation continuing. DRUNK AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT Mitrovica South - 06/01 - 2100 hrs. A K-Albanian male was arrested when he was found drunk and causing a disturbance. A search of his person revealed a knife. ASSAULT Mitrovica South - 06/01 - 1620 hrs. A K-Albanian male reported that he was assaulted known K-Albanian males. No serious injuries were reported. BURGLARY Mitrovica South - 05/01 - Time not reported. A K-Albanian male reported that unknown persons broke into his shop and stole jewelry valued at 1505DM. Investigation continuing. >>>>>> BORDER POLICE <> PRISTINA AIRPORT PUBLIC UNREST 06/01 - 0229 hrs. A group of approximately 1000 K-Albanians became angry and upset over flight cancellations due to weather conditions. KFOR, UNMIK Police and KPS Officers responded to the area for control of the situation where crowds blocked the main entrance. The situation was last reported as controlled. FALSE PASSPORTS * 05/01. Five K-Albanians were detained when they attempted to exit Kosovo on false passports. The documents were seized and exit was denied. * 05/01. Two K-Albanians were detained after they attempted to enter Kosovo while in possession of false passports. The subjects were processed and released. <> GENERAL JANKOVIC STOLEN PASSPORT 05/01. Five K- Albanian males attempted to exit Kosovo by presenting stolen passports. The passports were seized and the subjects processed and released. FALSE PASSPORT 05/01. One K-Albanian male attempted to exit Kosovo with a stolen passport. The document was seized and the subject was transported to the detention center. <> VRBNICA FALSE DOCUMETS 05/01. A K-Albanian male attempted to cross the border on a false passport. The passport was seized and the subject gave a statement. FALSE PASSPORT 05/01. A K-Albanian male attempted to cross the border on a false Albanian passport. The document was seized and the subject was released. <> CAFA PRUSHIT ILLEGAL BORDER CROSSING 05/01.
