Jan. 2001 * ****************************************** Major Highlights ================ Pristina Region : Armed suspects rob Kuwait Joint Relief Committee offices. Gnjilane Region : K-Serbian female injured in grenade attack. Prizren Region : Three unknown males attempt to abduct a Moldavian female. Pec Region : Unknown suspects rob a shop and then threw grenade at K-Albanian owner. Mitrovica Region: K-Serb female assaulted by K-Serb male. No injuries. PRISTINA Region =============== :: ARMED ROBBERY :: Pristina - 20/01 - 0300 hrs. Unknown armed persons broke into the offices of "Kuwait Joint Relief Committee" and stole an empty safe box, video camera, and a videocassette recorder after threatening a security guard. No injuries were reported. THREATS Pristina - 21/01 - 0115 hrs. A K-Albanian male was arrested for threatening UNMIK Police Officers when they attempted to carry out a search of his motor vehicle. No injuries were reported. GNJILANE Region =============== :: GRENADE ATTACK :: Gnjilane - 20/01 - 1630hrs. Unknown subject(s) threw a concussion grenade in the yard of a K-Serb female. The victim sustained minor injuries to her face and legs. ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF WEAPONS Urosevac Town - 20/01 - 0125hrs. During a joint operation between KFOR and KPS Officers a vehicle with four K-Albanian males was stopped and searched. The search resulted in the seizure of a live hand grenade. The four suspects were arrested. PRIZREN Region ============== :: ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION :: Prizren - 19/01 - 2300 hrs. Three unknown persons entered a cafeteria and tried to force a Moldavian female to go with them but she managed to escape. No injuries were reported. ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF WEAPONS Danjane Village, Orahovac - 20/01 - 1200 hrs. A K-Albanian male was arrested by UNMIK Police after he was found in possession of a pistol and ammunition during a search of his motor vehicle at a checkpoint. PEC Region ========== :: ARMED ROBBERY :: Sicevo Village, Klina - 20/01 - 0005 hrs. A group of unknown male subjects armed with rifles, entered a local K-Albanian owned shop and began looting several items from the store. When the storeowner attempted to stop them, the group opened fire on the victim and also threw a hand grenade in the direction of the victim. The grenade did not explode and the group of subjects fled. Numerous empty shell casings were located at the scene. KFOR EOD disposed of the hand grenade. Neither injuries nor property damage were reported. ASSAULT Istok Town, Pec - 19/01 - 1710 hrs. A K-Albanian male was arrested by UNMIK Police for assaulting another K-Albanian male. No injuries were reported. ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF WEAPONS * M. Durdevik Village, Klina - 20/01 - 1130 hrs. A K-Albanian male was arrested by UNMIK Police after a search of his residence resulted in the seizure of a semi-automatic pistol and ammunition. * Naglavci Village, Klina - 20/01 - 1145 hrs. A K-Albanian male was arrested after a search of his vehicle resulted in the seizure of a semi-automatic pistol and ammunition. BURGLARY Dakovica Town, Pec - 19/01 - 1300 hrs. A community hall run by the NGO "Dakovica Evangelical Society" was burglarized of a large amount of clothing. UNMIK Police investigating the incident arrested three K-Albanian males who were charged with Burglary. MITROVICA Region ================ :: ASSAULT :: Leposavic Station - 20/01 - 1720hrs. A K-Serbian female reported that her boyfriend assaulted her. Neither injuries nor arrests were reported. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. BORDER Police ============= PRISTINA AIRPORT ---------------- ALTERED / STOLEN PASSPORTS 19/01. Two K-Albanians attempted to exit Kosovo and one K-Albanian attempted to enter Kosovo by using stolen passports. The documents were seized and the subjects were released into Kosovo. FALSE PASSPORT 19/01. Two K-Albanians attempted to exit Kosovo on false passports. The documents were seized and exit was denied. DENERAL JANKOVIC ---------------- FALSE DOCUMENT 19/01. One K-Albanian attempted to exit Kosovo with a passport containing a false German document. The document was seized and the subject was allowed entry to Kosovo. STOLEN PASSPORTS 19/01. Eleven K-Albanians attempted to cross the border with stolen passports. The documents were seized and the subjects released into Kosovo. CAFA PRUSHIT ------------ ALTERED PASSPORT 19/01. One Albanian attempted to exit Kosovo using an altered passport. The document was seized and entry denied. INCIDENT OVERVIEW 20.
