Gnjilane Region : Eight K-Albanians and Macedonian males arrested for smuggling. Prizren Region : UNMIK Police vehicle attacked during protest against war crime verdict. Pec Region : K-Albanian male stabbed and critically injured. Mitrovica Region: K-Albanians riot. Two KFOR vehicles set on fire. PRISTINA Region =============== :: SHOOTING :: * Lebane Village, Pristina - 30/01 - 0955 hrs. Unknown person(s) shot at a motor vehicle, occupied by two K-Serbian males, one female, and three children, which was in a convoy of 30 other vehicles driving along Pristina Highway towards Podujevo/Gate 3 escorted by Ukrainian KFOR. The vehicle was slightly damaged; the occupants were not injured. * Pristina - 30/01 - 0900 hrs. A K-Albanian male was arrested after shooting with a handgun in direction to his brother over a property dispute. The victim was not hit and not injured. GNJILANE Region =============== :: SMUGGLING :: Zhegra Village, Gnjilane - 29/01 - 1850 hrs. Eight K-Albanian and Macedonian males were arrested after illegally crossing the border with approximately 750,000 cigarettes loaded on mules. The smuggled cigarettes were confiscated. ARMED ROBBERY Babush Village, Urosevac - 29/01 - 2330 hrs. Three unknown masked suspects armed with handguns entered the premises of a laundry and accosted four individuals, two of which are foreign nationals. During the robbery one of the suspects dropped his weapon causing it to discharge. The ricocheting bullet did not hit any of the victims but possibly wounded one of the offenders. After tying and taping the individuals the suspects robbed the business of cash and other items. No injuries were reported. PRIZREN Region ============== :: CIVIL DISTURBANCE :: Prizren - 30/01 - 1150 hrs. A crowd of approximately 500 persons gathered outside the Municipal building to protest against the verdict of a war crimes trial. After a delegation of the demonstrators negotiated with UNMIK officials the demonstration ended at approximately 1445 hrs without further incidents. No injuries were reported. THREATS/INTIMIDATION Prizren - 30/01 - 0445 hrs. A K-Albanian male threatened UNMIK Police officers after he was stopped for a traffic violation. The suspect was arrested. PEC Region ========== :: ATTEMPTED MURDER :: Dakovica Town - 30/01 - 1255 hrs. A twenty five year old K-Albanian male was stabbed and critically injured by an identified K-Albanian male. The victim was transported with a helicopter in serious condition to Pristina hospital. The suspect is still at large. The condition of the victim is now stable. MITROVICA Region ================ :: RIOTS :: Mitrovica South - 30/01 - 1520 - 2100 hrs. A group of approximately 1500 K-Albanians surrounded the Municipality Building and the nearby KFOR checkpoint. The crowd then began charging towards the main bridge where French KFOR used teargas to disperse them. Later groups of K-Albanians tried to attack the Serb-Orthodox Church in South Mitrovica. French and Danish KFOR brought the situation under control. Two KFOR vehicles were set on fire during the civil unrest. RAPE Vucitrn Town - 30/01 - 1645 hrs. A K-Albanian male reported that a known K-Albanian male raped his daughter two times at the 20th January. No additional injuries were reported. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. BORDER Police ============= PRISTINA AIRPORT ---------------- FALSE DOCUMENTS 29/01. Four K-Albanians attempted to exit Kosovo using false documents. The documents were seized and exit denied. GENERAL JANKOVIC ---------------- STOLEN PASSPORT 28/01. Three K-Albanian males attempted to enter Kosovo using stolen passports. The documents were seized but entry was allowed. VRBNICA ------- FORGED PASSPORT 29/01 - 1545 hrs. A K-Albanian attempted to exit Kosovo with a passport in which the photo had been changed. The document was seized and exit denied. CAFA PRUSHIT ------------ ILLEGAL BORDER CROSSING 29/01. Two Albanians and three K-Albanians males were caught attempting to cross the border through the minefield. INCIDENT OVERVIEW 30.
