KIDNAPPING CASES BY REGIONS (Year 2000)
Andrzej STEPIEN, Pristina 4 Feb 2001.
Source: UNMIK Police Crime Analysis & Statistics, Situation Reports

Kidnapping is still a serious problem in Kosovo. Most victims are women. Very often this is a way to solve a misunderstanding between boy and her girlfriend's parents. In some cases we can suspect activity of organized criminal groups forcing women into prostitution.
